Got up and walked the dog with Gen after coffee and then left for the airport. Flight was full and left a good 15 minutes early. Hung around San Francisco airport and had sandwiches before leaving for Fort Lauderdale. That plane was not full, and that is the first time in years that i have been on a plane that was not full. I watched a Bourne movie that the man in front of us was watching on his iPad. we sat next to a travel agent from England, who now lives on Victoria BC. He had been a frigate captain in the British Navy, then worked for a cruise line before becoming an agent. He was going to a convention in Fort Lauderdale.
When we got in, it was quite smooth. We got our rent a car, which had several features that we couldn't figure out. We overshot our hotel, but found it, getting in around 11:30 at night.

It was a very cute 60s, maybe 50s motel, built on the site of a former lion ranch and then circus winter home-the Victoria Park Hotel. They kept all the period details and colors. The air conditioning was super loud and you could not open any windows.
